Mission Statement as it relates to Instruction: Our goal is to
provide instruction with safety as our number one priority
followed by fun and finally - education. By putting our students
at ease we strive to develop a friendly and supportive
environment where everybody has the opportunity to improve to
the best of their abilities while having a great time
doing it. Coastal Kayak's
Teaching location: Wow! C.K. is located in what is
considered by many as one of the best teaching locations on the
East Coast. Only two miles north of Ocean City, Maryland and 3
miles south of Bethany Beach, Delaware. We are located directly on the water of Little Assawoman Bay which has an average depth of less than 4 feet.
The many coves and sheltered areas of the small bay make it
perfect for our beginner and intermediate classes. Directly
across the street - a three minute walk is the Atlantic Ocean.
This is an excellent location for some of our more advanced
classes such as our surf launch and landing clinics, our surfing
classes etc.. There is also a bath house with hot showers and a
food concession. Regardless of the weather, we can almost always
find conditions suitable for the class at hand. This includes
our advanced courses where we have access to two of the most
varied inlets on the east coast offering all levels of
conditions form mild to intense allowing our instructors to find
the perfect environment for you to learn and grow.

or learning to surf your sea kayak? Schedule a private or group
lesson. All of our instructors are ACA certified. Our head
instructor is Mitch Mitchell an ACA Open Water Instructor
Trainer and BCU level 3 Coach. We will spend
time assessing your level and introduce you to conditions that
will challenge you but not be beyond your reach. "With over 15
